Position Title: Data Analyst – People Analytics

Location: Bengaluru (Local candidates preferred)

Mode of Work: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite; may extend to 5 days/week)

Duration: 6–12 months (Contract to start)

Time Zone: IST (with 2–3 hour PST overlap if required)

Position Summary

The People Analytics team at Pure Storage is looking for a highly skilled Data Analyst with a passion for transforming data into actionable insights. You will play a pivotal role in influencing HR decisions through data-driven analytics, working closely with BI Engineers and stakeholders across the organization. This role demands strong SQL and Tableau expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver scalable, high-quality analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced analytics such as:

    • Cohort analysis

    • Scenario analysis

    • Time-series forecasting

    • Predictive modeling

  • Develop impactful data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights clearly and effectively.

  • Articulate assumptions, methodologies, and interpretations in both technical and non-technical formats.

  • Design robust data models to support scalable reporting and analytics initiatives.

  • Collaborate with BI engineers to develop efficient, high-performing analytics and reporting solutions.

  • Query data from cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake using advanced SQL.

  • Conduct rigorous data validation and quality assurance to ensure accurate and reliable outputs.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot data discrepancies, performing root cause analysis as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience:
    5+ years in Data Analytics, BI Analytics, or BI Engineering roles, ideally in a global organization.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Expert-level SQL skills for querying and building views in platforms such as:

      • Snowflake

      • Redshift

      • SQL Server

      • Oracle

      • BigQuery

    • Strong proficiency in Tableau and similar BI tools (Domo, Looker).

    • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and/or Power BI (lookups, pivots, advanced formulas).

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s or advanced degree in:

    • Data Analytics

    • Data Science

    • Information Systems

    • Computer Science

    • Applied Mathematics

    • Statistics

    • Or a related field

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across different time zones

    • Problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for uncovering insights through data.

  • Previous experience supporting HR or People Analytics is a plus.
